Here at 1000ecofarms, we are committed to supporting small farmers, nourishing agricultural ecosystems, and supporting local economies. We know that the future of food may very well be a vision from the past: one where people consume food that was grown locally, in their community, by a farmer whom they know and trust.
Supporting local farmers and producers is only one part of how we’re going to get there. We know that for local and sustainable food systems to succeed, consumers and producers alike need to be informed. 1000ecofarms is excited to announce that we’ve launched an online magazine, right here on our website, where people can come to learn more about the foods they eat, food news and policy, and even get to know local farmers, food-related businesses and non-profits, and chefs.
We will feature a variety of content, including Know Your Food articles, where we profile some of the awesome food that we love, and Know Your Farmer articles, where you can here from local farmers themselves about the challenges they face and why being a sustainable, local farm matters to them. And it’s not just farmers — we’ll also profile chefs and other food-related businesses that are contributing to the fight for sustainable and resilient local food systems.
Regular updates on food news and policy will also be featured under Natural Food News, so you can stay up-to-date with all you need to know about what’s happening in the world of food: policy changes, issues that are trending, and actions being taken to address them. We’ll also explore a wide range of notable food topics in our Learn and Explore section, such as what “cage-free” really means and how raw honey differs from store-bought.
Brand new interesting and informative content will be posted weekly. Our hope is for 1000ecofarms to be a reliable and trust-worthy source of relevant food news/information for anyone wishing to follow the big, beautiful world of natural, sustainable, and local food.
Stay up-to-date with new content by following us on Twitter and Facebook. And please don’t hesitate to reach out with ideas, leave comments, and add to the discussion!
